Daniel McCabe

Project Management and Business Development Director

Daniel has been working in the energy sector since 2008. Daniel has broad experience in solar PV, LED lighting, electricity wholesale, strategic energy reduction strategies and project management.

Having personally managed over 50MW of solar PV projects Daniel brings extremely valuable experience to the table and his skillset compliments the rest of the GI family perfectly. Daniel is also passionate about helping developing nations and spearheads our GI Community Division where we supply free solar energy to families who have no access to electricity.

Daniel has been with GI Energy since inception in 2011 and continues to drive the business with the same energy and passion every day.

Luke

Luke Marklew

National & Sales Operations Director

Luke Marklew has been a key Director with GI Energy from the infancy stages. Luke had worked for a variety of other solar companies prior to GI Energy, and unfortunately had seen bad businesses practices leading to some of these companies being forced to cease trading. This has been a common trend in our industry, and Luke was able to bring his experience to GI Energy, to ensure our operations were ethical, customer focused and honest. Luke’s experience and determination to run GI Energy as an ethical and honest company, is key to us being one of Australia’s longest standing reputable solar companies.

His role is predominantly looking after operations, making sure all the installations taking place are getting done correctly, in a timely manner and to the highest standards.

Matthew Williams

General Manager

Matt has worked in the mining and energy sector since 2010 in various roles across QLD and NSW. Starting with GI Energy in 2015 Matt has overseen the growth of the residential and commercial sales team ensuring each client receives the individual care they deserve.

Matt’s role at GI extends to all parts of the business, mainly focussing on educating our sales team on the constantly evolving market that is the solar industry so that our options are market leading paired with the finest old-fashioned customer service and after care.

You may recognise Matt’s name as a finalist from the Under 13’s European Maths Challenge in 1999, although he doesn’t like to mention this too often…

James Gibbins

Technical & Operations Engineer

James

Having a Master of Electrical and Electronic Engineering from UCL, James role is to support and assist our installation teams as well as working with manufactures and technical developers to drive innovation within the business.

James has experienced deigning solar PV systems from 1kW to 2.5MW and has vast experience with a range of other energy saving strategies and technologies.

James was born in the best part of England; Devon. Even though it’s the best, it was still grey and drizzly, so he’s spent most of his life trying to escape. Having travelled to over forty countries, and lived in North America and Asia, he has – as generations of Brits before him – ended up at the end of the world.

Scott

Scott Boswell

Technical Support and Marketing Specialist

Scott Boswell has been working with GI Energy since 2016 and has an in depth knowledge of all things solar. He has worked in sales, marketing, integration, tech support and content creation. Scott is a passionate renewable energy advocate and loves helping customers save money. He also enjoys educating customers so they better understand exactly how solar works and can maximise the benefits solar brings them.

Prior to working with GI Energy, Scott had spoken to several other solar providers. After meeting GI Energy, Scott realised his strong ethically core and desire to make sure customers are looked after extremely well was shared with the GI team.

Stuart

Stuart Cargill

Quality Control and CEC Installer

Stuart Cargill has been working with GI Energy since 2014 as QLD QTP. Stuart is a CEC Approved Installer and Designer with battery accreditation and has worked on projects ranging from residential size up to over 500kWs.

As well as standard grid connect experience Stuart has also installed battery systems for homes and businesses. He has experience designing and installing off-grid solar and EPS systems with over 70kWh of battery storage.

Originally from Scotland, Stuart had never seen the sun before coming to Australia, so moving into the solar industry was a no brainer.

Byron

Byron Corringham has a great passion for renewables and is known best for the way he cares for customers. He is a CEC Approved installer and designer with battery accreditation and has over 5 years experience in the electrical industry.

When it comes to quality control processes Byron is meticulous and his installation work is as close to perfect as you will find.

Byron has always been an advocate of helping reduce carbon emissions and loves the fact his job contributes towards the cause. Being able to play a small part in helping Australia move towards a more sustainable future means he can go home at the end of the day proud of what he is achieving at work.

Vanessa

Graduated as a Cum Laude in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Vanessa has more than 15-years of management and administrative experience which gives her the knowledge and ability to drive the GI office extremely effectively.

She applies the highest levels of professionalism, passion, determination and focus to excel in all aspects of customer service, office management and administration.

Vanessa is able to interact well with customers, installers, staff members, at all levels and go the extra mile together with her penchant for detail.

Coming from the land of beer & pork knuckle, Carina moved to Australia in 2014. Since then, she has travelled to several countries, completed a Bachelor of Business, Marketing degree and discovered a strong passion for the environment.

When she’s not writing a new blog post about sustainable savings, you will find her at the beach making an endless list of her next travel adventures and figuring out how to steal Matt’s Golden Retriever, Vinnie..oh and Luke’s Beagle, Nigel, too.

Part of the GI Energy team since 2017, Thomas has comprehensive knowledge of the solar process and provides an easy to understand approach to buying solar. His keen interest in people and genuinely wanting to provide the best experience possible means he has an extremely high customer satisfaction rating from all his clients.

A keen interest in athletics throughout his teens resulted in becoming part of the Grafton Ghosts football team through the years of 1998 – 2001, where the unimaginable achievement of winning one game and trying in another game in those three years will be a long-lasting memory of all participants. Add a cherry to the top of his glittering sports career, a second place in the 100m finals at the Grafton High School sports carnival ensured that the name Thomas would probably, maybe never be forgotten amongst the locals.

Joel is an experienced energy assessor and emerging technology specialist, supporting energy reduction business practices and policies for a brighter green future.

From assessing how businesses use their power, Joel uses his industry leading skills, knowledge and genuine care for people to come up with the most suitable solar energy solutions.

Raised in country NSW, moving around four different states and to the plains of Africa, Joel found himself settling into the tropical state of QLD to enjoy the sun and beautiful beaches.

Having worked as a tradesperson in the solar and electrical industry for 7 years in a variety of sectors, Lincoln transferred into a sales role to pursue further career goals and actively seeks to provide understanding and clarity to the process that GI Energy customers go through when investing in a solar system for their home or business. He wholeheartedly believes in educating customers and ensuring they can feel confident and sure in their decision when it comes to renewable energy.

When he isn’t throwing spanners at his cars in loving frustration, you can find Lincoln swatting at mosquitos in the outback with a tinnie in his hand or enjoying a burnt hand-cooked meal at home.

She has a strong background in sales, has worked in finance for many years helping Aussies to live the dream of homeownership and building for their future.

Before Phil came to Australia, born and bred in Britain, she extensively backpacked through Europe and beyond. After taking a few years off to raise two great Aussies, she continues to travel; however, nowadays prefers a more comfortable mode of travel and has hung up her backpack.

Ken

Ken is our B2B Customer Liaison Officer and has been a part of the GI Energy team since 2015. He says “it is a great atmosphere in the office, and I enjoy working with people that have integrity in their work. I enjoy helping businesses reduce their carbon footprint and love seeing them save money”.

Ken has always been is a solar advocate and has a 6.6kW solar array with a 10kW LG battery installed at his own home. After seeing his own energy bills go from nearly $1000 per quarter to only a little over $50, he has seen the power of solar energy for his own eyes.
